This boy can crawl

In Crawling Mode

For a couple of weeks now, we’ve been contending with the increasingly-mobile, ever-active boy wonder. (The alphabet/number mat is something we got to cushion him a little on our wood floors.) This is a great shot because I think it captures his confidence and sturdiness on all fours. He especially likes to use his new mobility to chase Nigel, the cat.

The all-fours business may not last long, however. A couple of days ago, he lifted himself to standing using the rails of his crib. Look out, world.

Callum Hiccups — a test

I’m checking out YouTube as a means for adding videos to this site (and for a column I’m writing). This is old video, but we’ve got new stuff upcoming. Thanks for tolerating this test!

Tai Shan Photo Update (Panda with Mom)

Thursday, February 16th, 2006

A recent update about Tai Shan (who shares a birthday with Callum) says:

Among the panda staff, Tai has a new set of nicknames and descriptions, like “little toad,” “little monster,” “wild man,” and “rotten child,” just to name a few. When he is awake, if he is not chewing or climbing on Mei to get her to play, he is trying to “help” the keepers move bamboo. A new soccer ball will provide some distraction so that the keepers can finish the task.

Hm… maybe Callum and Tai share traits other than their birthdays. ;-)
