A divine confluence of events — the Harrison Street exit being closed for Bay Bridge construction, the joys of being able to get the carpool lane (thanks to Callum making 3 in the car), and the exact time of year we find ourselves in — has been making for some beautiful drives into the city. We come over the bridge just as the sun is coming up and turning the water shades of magenta and orange. Sometimes, the fog is rolling in, giving the whole scene an otherworldly feel. We can usually see Alcatraz, with its flashing lights, and often the Golden Gate Bridge (when it’s not covered completely by fog.) I took these pictures with my cameraphone yesterday morning. Not the greatest quality but hopefully they can serve to share what have been some lovely early-morning moments.
UPDATE: More SF at dawn pix here.
